Project Background :

The Winsys.lk Website Development project aimed to enhance the online presence of Winsys by developing a modern, user-friendly website. This project was crucial for improving user engagement, supporting digital marketing efforts, and providing a seamless online experience for visitors.

01. Requirements Analysis :

The first phase involved the elicitation of requirements in an explicit and comprehensive manner. We visited the Winsys campus, explored their current online presence, and identified the requirements across multiple departments: These include the Finance and Administration, the Academic staffs of both the under and post graduate, the Sales and Marketing and the IT support and Technical personnel. As it has been analyzed, the existing website under discussion had several drawbacks and it was important to improve navigation, design, and responsiveness to attract more visitors. For instance, the following is a list of some needs that each department wanted to achieve with the new website: We addressed the specifications of the new website and considered its capacity to accomplish the tasks being integrated.

02. Design and Concept :

Our recommendations included the creation of a new website with a modern approach inspired by the modular design industry standard Figma. This new layout was meant to enhance usability standards, UI design and properly organize the site to adapt to pocket-sized devices. Based on these observations, we developed a full-scaled concept that aligned OF with the website and users.

03. Define Project Scope :

The required project work was to create a new site for Winsys. lk, Software design principles from the modern era have been employed, coupled with improvements in functional capabilities. The scope also embraced the aspect of integrating the features of the website to meet the needs of organization, constant assessment and feedback collection.
Key functionalities include: comprehensive and intuitive UI and UX, optimal and adaptable layout, registration of courses, available and detailed information about programs, tools for financial services, systems for communication, human capital management, engaging and user-friendly interfaces, and comprehensive reports.

There were expectations of having all the necessary resources, talented human resource, and technical support for the project throughout the project period.

Time

It aimed to be realized within a certain period, with certain deadlines for each stage of the work. However, the duration was extended due to some challenges in developing the designs and migrating the content as well.

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

1) Requirement Gathering

As part of the requirement gathering process, we carried out interviews with the Winsys staff from individual departments. This process entailed figuring out how far the current website can go, defining each department’s needs, and studying the entire organization and their processes.

2) UI/UX Design

During the UI/UX design phase, we incorporated Figma as the preferred UI design tool in designing a modern and responsive chassis. We further redesigned to fit the organizational usage based on feedback to increase usability and streamline user-interface together with the general aesthetics.
